Current Burner Disaster Response Efforts Underway Include:

Assisting locals with debris and fallen tree cleanup, driveway grading, gravel delivery, and other needs as they arise.

• Assisting families through High Country Caregivers, a local not-for-profit organization which supports kinship caregivers, primarily grandparents raising grandchildren. BDR is providing services to these families including debris and fallen tree cleanup, grading, gravel, and other dirt work at their homes.

Establishment of a base camp in Meat Camp, NC, which is proximity to Boone, NC, to support visiting volunteers.

• Facilitation and delivery of tiny homes built by other organizations to individuals and families who lost their homes due to Hurricane Helene. Thank you to members of the central Pennsylvania Amish community for recently building 12 shed tiny homes for families displaced by the storm! Read more about this here.

Development of a program to provide free propane for those affected by Hurricane Helene.
